Dangerous Dave, infinitely more ‘daft’ than ‘dangerous’, and his ridiculous sidekick Herbert Lemon, present some of the most mind-bendingly silly stunts ever performed… ever. Marvel as the miniature superhero fights his way out of a wet paper bag, climbs the slippery pole of peril, plunges into a domestic food processor, attempts to escape from the pickled egg jar of DOOM, and becomes the totally fearless un-human Cannon Ball! Official Opening of West Bay Discovery Centre Bridport’s Deputy Mayor will be opening the new West Bay Discovery Centre at 12noon. Sculpture on the Beach With the National Trust 11am – 3pm, £3 entry per team. Gather the family and join Bridport Arts Centre for the annual Sculpture on the Beach Event. Taking place at Hive Beach Burton Bradstock, build a creative masterpiece with materials you find on the beach. There will be special guest judges and prizes on the day for the most inspired and unusual sculptures. Walking Discovery of Colyton Walks start from the car park in Colyton at 2pm and cost £3 per person (Under 16s are free). The tours take place regardless of weather. Everyone welcome to enter (not compulsory to be a Gardening member). Everyone welcome to view on the day. Gris – de – Lin with support act Chesca Doleka presented by Undercurrent Sessions. Eype Centre for the Arts, doors open at 7.30pm. Tickets : £10 advance tickets from Brown Paper Tickets or BearCat cafe in Bridport (£5 kids) , £12 on the door. Gris-de-Lin is a singer/songwriter & multi-instrumentalist from Dorset. Her music is a heady mix of post-rock, blues and alt-folk peppered with warped electronics. Her debut album Sprung was released by BB*Island on 6th April 2018. The album was recorded in a nursery school and saw her playing virtually all of the instruments herself – from guitars and synths to drums and saxophone. Working with producer/engineer Chris Hamilton (Torres/Kite Base) she also drafted in Rob Ellis (PJHarvey/Anna Calvi) to play drums on several tracks. Live she alternates between instruments and recent tours have seen her play shows in Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Australia and New Zealand and perform a live session for BBC Introducing. Gris-de-Lin has also been working with other artists including The Duke Spirit, Tunng, Gemma Ray and Joe Gideon & Jim Sclavunos (Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds).

Hawkchurch (village of the Roses) Fete week events in the week leading up to August Bank holiday Monday culminating in a fete on the village playing field on the August Bank Holiday afternoon itself.
