Witness appeal following car fire in Bridport

Officers investigating a car fire in Bridport are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward.

At around 7.10am on Wednesday 1 January 2020 Dorset Police received a report from the fire service of a car fire in Princess Road.

Firefighters extinguished the fire, which was believed to have been started deliberately.

A second vehicle also suffered damage from the fire.

Enquiries into the incident are ongoing. No arrests have been made at this stage.

Police Constable Alison Gale, of Dorset Police, said: “It is believed that the fire was started deliberately and we are continuing to investigate this incident.

“I am appealing to anyone with information or who witnessed any suspicious activity in the area at the relevant time to please contact police.”
